If you are still not decided on whether or not to upgrade to R11, it's probably because you haven't read the list of new features. C4D R11 has made a number of big changes. Render speeds for are up to 100% faster (according to Mac User magazine). This means that high quality renders using Global Illumination is possible for most projects. They have also built a new render engine which allows for higher quality "photo realistic" renders. I will be posting a tutorial on rendering glass soon that shows how much better the new render engine is. New COLLADA support means that you can now import your meshes from just about any parametric 3D application (including Sketchup) and use them in your scenes. Best of all (in my opinion), Cinema now utilizes the processing power of 64 bit machines (no more out of memory errors for those big scenes).
